When your local piercing store has a deal that's hard to pass up - you spontaneously get a new piercing. I was actually torn between getting my conch pierced or my helix. I keep hearing horror stories about people's helix experiences, especially with healing, so I decided to get my conch instead. I don't even know why I felt nervous, considering I have my tragus pierced. But there I was, trying to convince myself that this was a great idea and repeating "the pain will only last seconds" as my mantra.
